Catch Return Form

It is a legal requirement that every Migratory Permit holder must submit a Catch return/fishing effort form including nil returns.

With our iconic Atlantic salmon now declared an endangered species, the information submitted is more important than ever. Marine Scotland scientists use the information provided to accurately assess the salmon conservation status of each river and subsequently its annual sustainability grading- i.e. Category 1, 2 or 3.

The form can be easily submitted online and, for a few minutes of your time, you can play a small but important role for salmon conservation.

The Scottish Government have amended the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act 2003, to make it a legal requirement to submit not only your annual salmon catch return as in previous years, but additionally, submit the total number of days that you fished for salmon.

Please complete the form to provide the requested fishing effort information as now required by law, with the number of days you fished each week and the total per each month. The completed form must be submitted along with your catch return, even if the catch return is nil.
